New Season of The Bachelor to Feature a Catholic Church Priest Causes Controversy

LOS ANGELES – The new season of The Bachelor is causing a substantial amount of controversy even before its upcoming season premiere.

Entering its 25th season the show is undergoing a significant change. In past seasons the concept revolved around a single eligible bachelor getting to choose among 25 women to find his wife. During the course of the season, the bachelor eliminates the women until he is left with one, whom he proposes marriage too.

The drastic change taking place in the show is that instead of 25 women seeking the heart of one eligible bachelor, 25 young boys will be seeking the heart of one eligible Catholic Church priest.

“We’ve always had a good premise but in recent seasons I feel as if we have grown a little stagnant from doing the same concept over and over again so I decided to institute this change to keep viewers interested and watching,” said showrunner Mike Fleiss.

Only time will tell how successful this change will be. The new season of The Bachelor airs on Thursdays at 8PM on ABC this fall.
