TULSA, OK – The 4th of July is here, which means many people are heading to stores to pick up their yearly supply of fireworks. Meanwhile, Sam Robertson, a Walmart greeter, is missing both of his legs, left arm, and only has two fingers remaining on his right hand from past fireworks mishaps, but insists on igniting more fireworks this year.
The Robertson family in Tulsa take it to the extreme, spending around $5000 a year on fireworks for the holiday. Despite this, Robertson claims the show must go on with or without his limbs.
“Fireworks on the 4th of July is America, and I’ll never give that up no matter how many injuries I sustain,” said Robertson, adding how he’s willing to fight anyone who disagrees with him.
“I love this country so much that I’m willing to risk my life to show how much I love the red, white, and blue.”
Robertson went on to say that his 13-year-old son, Sammy Jr., will launch his first fireworks this year to welcome him into adulthood.
