PITTSBURGH, PA – Restaurants across the country have been complaining about being short staffed, largely because of the low pay tied to so many restaurant jobs, prompting many Americans to stay on unemployment instead.
One local Pittsburgh man, James Tally, 41, told reporters he doesn’t understand why someone would choose an unemployment check over working at a horrible work environment such as McDonald’s.
“This doesn’t make sense to me. All these people are staying on unemployment checks instead of working for their living. Sure, the jobs that are available pay nothing, but that’s beside the point,” said Tally.
